  • ​For those of you in crisis or needing immediate support, check out our list of crisis resources, including the number for a SAMHSA Disaster Distress Hotline and the National Disability COVID-19 Healthcare Support and Advocacy Hotline.

  • The latest information about COVID-19 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the CDC) and Johns Hopkins.

  • An article about post-COVID recoveries and possible temporary or long-term disabilities, from The New York Times.

  • A guide to different mask options and how to wear them, as well as information from the Minnesota Department of Health about mask alternatives and options for people with disabilities, including instructions for making clear masks.  There is also a guide to clear masks and how they work for lip-reading and safety.  More information can be found by searching for "clear masks" in Google or any other search engine - there are new sources for clear masks every day, and n95 clear masks in development.

  • The American Psychological Association has numerous resources about COVID and stress, parenting, compassion fatigue, self-care, and post-COVID psychological effects.

  • Information for people with asthma or other respiratory conditions, with information in Spanish.

  • NAMI information about mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic, with some resources in Spanish. SAMHSA has also created tips for supporting your mental and behavioral health right now, including how to deal with social distancing and isolation.

  • A guide for preparing your home for dealing with the coronavirus from National Public Radio.

  • Resources for people who are homeless during the pandemic from the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC).

  • New Mobility's information for those using attendant care, including a link to additional information for people with disabilities from the Shephard Center.





















  • CDC posters with basic information about the coronavirus and how to stay safe.
  • Know Your Rights during the COVID-19 Pandemic Series: This series of videos from the National Disability Rights Network offers information on your rights in a variety of scenarios during the pandemic.

  • ​Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) fact sheet about the ADA, Section 504, and the coronavirus.​​
 
  • Information about COVID-19 and Deaf people (available in American Sign Language and print).

  • Basic facts about the ADA and coronavirus.
 
  • Resources specifically for people with disabilities from the Administration for Community Living (ACL) and the National Council on Disability, including information about Social Security and Medicare​.

​In 2021, a federal discretionary grant (P116D210002) was awarded via  the National Center for Information and Technical Support for Postsecondary Students with Disabilities Program (NCITSPSD) to the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration (ICI-UMN), in full partnership with the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD) and is authorized by Congress in the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008 (777.4). 

The NCITSPSD program grant was originally awarded in 2015 (P116D150005) to the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD).
